The sites are located in Orpington town centre and comprise the conversion of an existing office block, Walnuts House, in to a hotel for Premier Inn and the construction of a multi-screen cinema above retail, gym and restaurant units on a site adjacent to The Walnuts Shopping Centre.
The top two floors of the hotel will contain bedrooms, and an additional floor will be added so that 63 bedrooms can be provided. Four of the existing ground floor units will be converted and used for the reception area, restaurant and back of house. The other retail units will be taken by new tenants.
The cinema comprises seven screens and is operated by Odeon. There are three retail units and three restaurant units at ground floor and a gym at mezzanine level. The development reconnects the retail circuit with the High Street.
The conversion of Walnuts House and the cinema development are the first phase in the regeneration of Orpington town centre.
